Kids painting in the backyard are why graffiti writers are soft now? Did you think about that before you said it or is omniscient asshole your default setting?

I would much rather people paint in their backyard to learn. Who wants to see toy paint all over their city?

The hardass act is integral to graffiti, I get that. But there's no place for it on the Internet. No one is convinced.

Lmao who's acting hard I'm telling it like it is. Your painting graffiti in your parents backyard what part of the game is that. Practice piecing in your blackbook and get can control from bombing.

Why practice anyways. If your painting in your backyard it's pretty obvious your too scared to bomb the streets. And you shouldn't paint pieces of you don't bomb

Plenty of writers bomb out on the streets and paint at home as well. Taking at-home painting out of the equation because of some ego-trip shit like 'it's not worthy of graffiti' is laughable. No one out there can tell you how to write. In the end it's up to you to write how and where you want to. Yea, if the only thing you care about is getting your name up then painting on the street exclusively is more effective. But if you care about progressing your skill then there isn't a damn thing in the world wrong with painting at home. No amount of shit talkin' from others will ever justify excluding it. They can look down on you for it, but shit is meaningless. Are you writing to impress them?

Peeps like to think graff is about being hard af, thuggin' (whatever the fuck that shit is) but at its core it's about writing your name. Maybe you wanna be famous, maybe you don't. Shit doesn't matter, you still want to write your name eh? And you want that shit to look nice? Then practice where ever and however you want to. It all depends on your priorities. There are no rules. A crew might have them, but graff as a whole, something that revolves around breaking the law for the most part anyways? There are no rules, only consequences. (IE: paint on a church and you'll be looked down upon, start crossing someone out or paint over some legendary piece and you might get your ass kicked, paint in a risky area and you might get caught.)

I doubt anybody that bombs would do something as stupid as practicing a throw up in the backyard. First of all your baiting yourself out only takes one person to see you. And if your actually painting why would you waste paint on plywood just to buff yourself and do it again makes no sense. You progress from getting out there and putting in work not fucking around in your parents yard. But that's the thing with most the people on these forums they just want to act like they do graff but really theyr too scared to leave the backyard. Go out and be a toy on a wall it's part of the game. If you want to skip that part then stay in the books for a couple years. I don't think you guys understand this shit isn't all fun and games. You actually wanna be a writer and paint? Not just hit your books then be ready to run from cops, go to jail, get beat up for being in the wrong spot and all that shit. It's obviously not always the case but if you don't think you can do jail time or any of the gritty shit why bother. Your wasting time and energy practicing for nothing.

I know what your saying tho like fuck what other people think and that's cool. This is just my opinion on the subject. I'm not gonna go around looking for kids painting in the yard and telling them to stop lol. Do whatever the fuck you want but it's just wack. There's so many shortcuts in graff right now, half the people on here are from suburbs that don't even have graff. You can just go online and get inspiration and shit you don't have to put in the work to see pieces. You go online and have people baby you on how to get your tag to look right people can't even think for themselves. The only part you can't take a shortcut on is actually painting but now your painting in your backyard instead of looking for a chill spot to paint. There's no more footwork and it's making this shit so soft right now. End rant

Well said from both of you. Honestly your points are almost opposite but very valid on both ends of the spectrum. Lots of wisdom to those words. And I give you both respect for that.

We are in the wrong thread for this lol. Don't piss of the masta.

And from my perspective, I'll keep this short. I paint both chill spots and in my home. I guess I see both points from you two and honestly I don't think either is right or wrong. Graff is about self and a name. I guess I try not to complicate it beyond that.

You progress in painting from painting, that's it. It doesn't matter where you paint or how you paint.

You want to learn how to be sneakier? How to get away from cops? How to deal with someone crossing you out? You want your name out there at every opportunity? Then yeah, get out on the streets and paint. It's the best way to gain that experience.

But nothing about that means you can't practice at home, and if that helps you then do it. Like I said before, are you writing to impress the people that look down on you? What are you writing for? Not everyone is in this for the same reason. Not everyone cares about being hardcore or getting famous. Some people just like writing their name.

You might have goals with writing, but applying your standards to every other writer as if they have the exact same goals is foolish. You write for your reasons and someone else will write for his own. Don't try to push your reasons for writing and your standards onto someone else, especially if they aren't even in your area.

That's about all I have to say about that, not gonna chat this thread up anymore.

Only reason i say to find a chill spot is cause its gets you out there.. allows you to find new places, other writers... etc and at the same time gets your name out there

Dude you don't even do anything so why the fuck are you talking? You just pop up, criticize everyone, then crawl back into your fucking hole. You're probably some fat turd that just scans around on the Internet looking to express your fucking opinion to anyone who doesn't give a fuck. Put up or shut the FUCK up. For once put your koney where your damn fatass mouth is. Shit.
