And I finally got started ib art again (but it's tough... sorry... no sympathy asked... just saying...) and I worked a lot more on your Lobo piece which is a full pager sticker, Nzane. Very happy with it and you wiill find the wait worth it. I hope to get some more done tonight and get some proper flicks.

EBA/Satire: While i'm hardly gonna criticize your general art skills (which are a lot more impressive than mine) I fkn wish you would spend just a bit longer on your sketch up before you start laying in full colours to get your letterforms better. They're always like 80% of the way there imo.
Thanks, actually, for what is one of the nicest-put criticisms ever! I'll let you guys all in on a little secret... I have never felt like I really "have it." In fact I worry that feeling that was is bad. You have to feel like there is some place you lack in motivates you to get better. However, in this case, I don't feel like I have mastered letter structure enough. One of the big secrts of graffiti skill to me isn't knowing how to do anyhing. It's "seeing." You can look at pieces, anyone's work, not just tyour own, and immediately see somethihng here or there wrong with it. I still don't feel like I hve it down. Sometimes, I really feel like it works. Other times, I can see it more. Sometimes you don;t see ghow to improve but you still see flaws. All of these wrods are actually screen names for a bunch of MST3K nerds in this other community I've been in for 20+ years. It's just me fucking around hence the shitty quality to the fills and even the overall sometimes. I'm not really spending a huge amount of time on it. It's mainly just practice and flling up pages to hone skills. Having said that, its no excuse cuz I can see this quality in what I consider my best pieces. I try to bar out my letters and I will def try to work on making that better because that's where the structre comnes froim.
dude what you just said resonates so well with me! Im able to "see" it, almost since i started rappin 10 years ago, but it spread from rap to kind of any other art form. People i know tell me its my dark gift to identify the shittiness of something. Youre very right that if you think something you produced can be done better, you will keep going. Wise words ma man. Also fuckin dope piece right there!
Oh ok yea I had heard about the toothbrush technique but I just used a very small paint brush and flicked it with watered down paint ... I didn't do anything to protect the characters .. just tried to be careful and manually painted what was too close to be splattered ...I still got some paint on the characters tho but it's all good cuz this piece was entirely experimental ..
Yeah ive thought this since ive been more active over the past few months. you've defiantly got talent, be that graffiti wise or just general drawing & colouring. its almost frustrating seeing some of your shit on here cuz if you spent just a little bit longer over certain pieces they would look fire. i can tell the pieces where youve put more time & effort in. quality over quantity imo also old pic for talking
