Alright I tightened it up a little less, is this throwtotype more what you were talking about? Less round and extended a bit.
I feel like this was a big improvement! Take my crit with a grain of salt, I’m still toy af lol. But now I’d focus on making sure each letter has about the same size and visual weight. The whole thing seems to get smaller toward the end, and the P and T are way heavier than the others. I also try to keep all of my line angles consistent throughout. Your L slants a bit more than the others. But yeah, I think you’re on the right track!
I feel exactly what you're saying bro and I'll try doing throws on a baseline and with relatively the same spacing till I fix the balance
I hit an old train car with a throwie last night. When I looked at it this morning, it was so bad. Lol. Just a big purple blob, couldn’t see my outline at all. I was using Rusto “No Hunting” paint for the fill, so it might’ve been a little glossy (it didn’t have the glossiness on the can), and it was pretty cold, and I’ve never painted on metal before, so I think it was just too wet. Hopefully I can go back tonight and hit it with a clean outline to fix it.
I went back for a better look, it’s way better in the right light. My main mistake was using black for the outline on a dark car.
Honestly man I tend to have better luck using decent paint for the fills and rusto for the outlines. Granted a lot of that is probably also because I don't have a cap adapter to rock the new yorks. But besides that it just feels like to me that you need to go over it more when using cheap paint on the fills. I was doing a throw once on this street using a rusto fill that was basically the same purple, and the pigment just didn't want to cover that surface for shit. I ended up just doing a half ass fill because it started getting busy on the street but with a glorious white outline. I'll say this... Rusto white and blacks for quick outlines are excellent. But you can get the job done for fills so much faster and cleaner if you opt for lak or any graff paint. Just my experience over the past month.
LMAO I know this feeling. I just recently did one of my first fill in throwups ever and when I went to look in the morning I was praying for a buff. Poor fill in rushed and the letters weren't balanced.
Just did a throw for the first time since I got a box of caps and I have to say, astro fats do fucking crazy fills. I only got like one cyclone in the random box but I didn't want to use it yet because I already know they're dope as fuck. But that astro fill was like everything I expected it to be. Such a thick broad spray it's fucking insane; so glad I have like a variety of caps besides the new yorks. Hope I get the chance to take a picture before it gets buffed by monday.
@pew It's a good start, you missed part of the outline on the E though. Here's some practice from tonight. Crits?
Looks dope man. Added more overlap but D is too small obviously. Also altered the structure of the E and S.
@Ahem Thank mans, however the D is supposed to be an O. I'm having trouble with it but ill work it out.
I'm toy and learning throws but I think that looks clean. Would probably get rid of the negative space in your a hole and stop sketching outlines. Like sketching drops is whatever but outlines not so much bro. Just write the fuck out of it. You might want a uniform top too but that looks pretty balanced either way.
