Is that because throws are meant to be quick & smooth and they should be practiced that way? And I guess you don’t sketch throws at the wall like you do with pieces.. I think it makes sense to me, just wanted to make sure.

exactly. throw ups should take less time than a piece. tags are even faster.

Hit up the bowl at the hometown skatepark. Sorry for the terrible fake crew shoutout, lol, it was just for practice.

that dude in the top right corner lol.
Better than my throwups, all lop-sided and shit. I need more experience painting them. Make it a different crew everytime you hit up.
the bottom of the Z should have as much space as the bottom of the E (or the opposite). Otherwise it looks..- toy.

That Z isn't working, that top line inside of the Z is way too awkward and angled. Look at the one Nastynasty did, that is what a Z should be more like. simple, proportional, and not awkward. S isn't awful but needs to be refined, and its much bigger than every other letter in the throw. A simple circle instead of a star on the top of the I would also work much better with that throw

Does anyone know if an astro cap will fit onto a male stem can? Those are the only kinds of cans we got around here, except for the gay dollar paint cans which are female cans.

This explains the difference between the two types of male valve cans and the Sekt adapters.

They also sell female cap pack that will fit the male valve cans which are great IMO.
I picked up a 10 pack of rusto female caps and they are pretty good.

And thanks for the demonstration BTW. It’s way more understandable with a reference. Lol.

Yeah the Z and the D turned out really goofy on the wall. Is this top sketch seem a little better? Ignore the bottom one lol

This is how it should look

The blue line shows how every letter's top is similar to the next, making it "balanced" or "equal". As you can tell, this makes things look good and is a fundamental rule in graffiti.
The green line shows how all the red lines that define the letters end at the same spot, leaving equal spacing under the green line and making each letter again, similar.
See how the 1st purple circle is pointing out how the bottom of the S is smaller than it's top, we do the same thing to the i at the end, because it makes the throwie balanced. The bottom half of letters in between the two circles however are fatter. 1 small, 3 fat, 1 small.
The top of the letters are more boxy than I intended. Usually a throwup should be all curvy for quick drawing.

You can use this throwie if you want, but if you're looking to develop one keep what I explained in mind.

Incredibly helpful. I've been overthinking the individual letters and forgot to keep the whole piece in context

Focs is a cool name, like "fox"

So can anyone good at throws tell me what the fuck to do with this P? Should I straighten the bottom and make the top phat; what's good?

Make the left side of the P fully roundedlike the side of an o.Your letters must be made up of the same basic shape. The letters are all saying "Oh No" and your P just comes in like the koolaid man

now that I look at it, I see you tried to make the A follow the P, but its not working. My suggestion js Simplify both of them and just make em rounded. Or you can make the top of the T, the corners in the side line up with the inverted corners of the A and P. So just make the top have some more space if what im saying makes sense.
