    3A14B7CA-6CFE-47B8-9E43-D0C1A8405CE7.jpeg Long post incoming:

Alright so, I’ve found this nice wall that I want to use to throw up a nice mural that will take me about maybe an hour to bomb. The wall is on an abandoned/out of business gas station that sits on a normally busy intersection during the day. I’ve checked this place out and have done some scouting at night (at around 2-4am) and the place is a ghost town, however I’ve seen at least 2-3 cops drive past the intersection on each day that I went and there was even a cop that Parked itself in a close by parking lot in view of the wall. Since the place is out of business, there is a fence that goes along the sidewalk around the outer perimeter of the property.

I’ve got an idea that since it’s such a good wall, I’m thinking about using some scrap wood beams that I have lying around my home to make a barrier or fence surrounding the wall so I can throw up my mural without being seen. The barrier would basically use wood beams propped up and have bedsheets or a tarp along the wood like a fence just blocking the view of the outside, around the wall.

My first question is whether or not the makeshift barrier/fence is a good idea. Since the place is abandoned, I don’t really think anyone will pay too much attention to something resembling a construction fence suddenly appearing one day/night.

I’m attaching a crappy doodle of the layout for where the wall is and the property itself.

The second question would be, if the barrier/fence thing is a good idea, would it be better if I just bombed the wall during the day under the protection of the barrier where I’m hidden in plain sight, and with less opportunity for a cop to single out the location, or to do it at night so I can go unseen by the public completely, but have the risk of those regular 2-3 cops giving me their undivided attention?

Last question, all my friends are people who have clean records and I don’t want to risk them getting involved, but should I make sure to have a lookout for this kind of job, or is it fine to try to do a solo bomb that could take some time to finish without a lookout.

I appreciate anyone’s input and would like to know opinions on this, so thanks in advance.

Zip tie a few tarps to the fence where you could be seen from . . Get the tarps with the mettle rings they are more derrible and the only like 10 bucks at job lots saves from lugging wood around .

Fuck a look out get a scanner app on your phone . A look out is just somebody you have to worry about leaving behind if you have to run or snitching you out if you do just leave em

Bye the way you explained the place possibly have a friend down the street in a parked car lights off with a scanner and a walk talky for you to to comicate or a head set on your head and keep homie on the line while you paint if you got free mins lol .. then you dont have to worry about dude if you run he cam just prwtend to sleep and if the cops say any thing all he has to say is was drivinf and felt tired pulled over so he would falk asleep behind the wheel and kill some one and they should let dude be free . Long as he ainy got beer or weed or somthing

This whole site is nothing but bad advice from cool sounding people slightly older than the ones being influenced by them. The cool people pretend that it’s possible to be very clever and get away with doing damage to property and are encouraged by intermittent reinforcements (look it up). It’s like gambling. You win once so you think you’re a winner. Only a foolish childish person would take these risks when 1- there are places where you can make public art legally and 2- your idea of rebellion actually helps no one else and is utterly narcissistic. Get a real protest to join.

Graffiti is beautiful. Graffiti done illegally on someone else’s property hurts people. Why are so many of y’all into selfishly hurting others? Because they are faceless? Let’s take a tempting example: if you stick it to the man by tagging a bank, the bank owners (shareholders) do not feel pain. The worker in charge of maintenance does. The guard earring min wage gets blamed unless you are under arrest. You hurt the ordinary folks.

Unfortunate you see it that way. I've never seen the hypothetical situation you mentioned play out in the real world though. At worst illegal causes a mild inconvenience for public workers, who are at the end of the day being paid either way. But that's just what I've seen.

I work in a school . The money that goes to cleaning graffiti gets spent instead of books or an activity or something else. Just because some of you have not had an experience doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. I don’t understand the claim that graffiti has no cost. Small landlords are plagued by it. Large ones count it as cost of business and there fore pay their workers less. Claiming it has no cost is childishly refusing to take responsibility for your actions. There’s a generation gap in this conversation. I talk to people who have to pay/clean up. You all strike me as older adolescents. Separate conversation: the arrogance of thinking you can do this a lot and not be caught. This is a felony in NYC. Anything over $250 damage is a class e felony. Over $1500 is a class D. If you have no legal places to do it , organize! Go to a community board meeting and ask for a legal place to get set up. Don’t be self destructive and don’t tell people younger than you to be.

thats not the point, its not a protest, its barely art. We just like writing our names on shit weather its because we think it looks good or just for the thrill. If you g into graf for a protest you're not with everyone else, you're an outlier. You are right tho, most of the advice here is wack as fuck.
