And I'm coming to accept that. Its not that Im going to stay a toy because Ive got crap designs. I've got some great ones....its.just that there is NOWHERE near here to practise holding a can. Im realising that drawing a design is completely different to knowing how to use a can .... getting the distance right, the angle right, the cap right...it all needs practise and there is just nowhere to do it here. Ive got a couple stencils up which I'll continue with, because most of the work can be done at home, and Ive got a few tags up but it's so obvious I really need to practice holding the can, but there isnt anywhere. This place is such a small town with no real practise space. I havent seen any new tags here for over two years. Im the only one doing it lol
No car so Im limited. Obvious spots already have old (and better) tags on. So going over them wouldn't be good etiquette at best! The stencil I put up is prominent so Im interested to see if it acts as a calling card for any writers in the area...otherwise its just me :'(
If you actually have real determination to practice can control then you can just buy plywood and build a wall to paint on. A lot of people make their own personal walls for practice.
Its a good idea Sanguine, but I live in a council house with no back garden or garage, so nowhere really to make a practice wall! Urgh and I tried using a 120ml sugar spray can tonight - shook it over 400 times and all it did was splatter out lmfao
I'll tell you this much, if you racked your paint you wouldn't be that pissed over a broken can. or may be your hood doesn't have hardware stores or some weird shit like that lol...
Try getting a roll of rosin paper. It soaks up the pain/ink but once you get a good layer of paint on it then you will be fine. Cardboard boxes are also good. You can get a ton if you call or go to a restaurant and ask them to save some or if they have any. Your best bet is just asking because your moving. If you use thumb tacks you can put them on your wall. Also you can use a piece of scrap plywood. At the hardware store they will normally have scrap cuttings for clearance.
