ya man, i didnt mean to sound like you should just drop a tag in the middle of class. like if you think someone rights or ur chill with some kid and only they are watching then you should throw a tag, but nnever in front of big groups or teachers
you can't let random narcs know you paint. thats just retarded, i used to have a kid in my class that painted to. i just noticed him drawing all the time and then i asked to see the drawing. i painted with the same kid 2 weeks l8er. if you have a Local Graff site everyone can relate to what your showing them or the spots. but cops go on those and fuck things up after awhile. h34r:
Yeah i don't leave tags around my school, i just sketch in my notebooks and shit, my school isnt hardcore on graffiti though but w.e. it's better safe than sorry right? But every now and then we'll bomb our elementary school and once in a while we bomb our own school.
You know how if you see someone like, you here the rattle from a can, or you notice the homemade in there pocket, then later on you see them on the train writting or see them spray painting somewhere, how should you go about talking to them, I heard it's rude if you go and speak to someone and go "dude....do you write "Insert tag here"..." ... Should you say somethink, Hey i write "Blah" what you write? ...
I'm a toy too so don't take my word for the absolute truth or anything. But the problem with that statement there is that you're asking them for their handle, their graff name. When i've met someone, i say "Hey do you write?" It's a pretty safe question to ask cause only other writers will know what you're referring too, everyone else will be like WTF? But anwyays if they say "Yea", then introduce yourself to them. "That's cool, man i write too, my name is (Real name here), i get up in this area." the other guy will probably share the same information. Then if you're combfortable with it, share your handle and hopefully they'll do the same, you shouldn't have to ask for someones handle. And if worse comes to worse and you think it just slipped their mind to tell you, it's not a HORRIBLE thing to ask, but still try to avoid asking in general. @Mekas - From my little experience on the scene, i think a general rule that's sorta formed has been no hitting homes, no hitting churhces and no hitting schools. But i guess it depnds on your area and if you're school has already been painted on before or whatever, but uhh yea whatever.
erm go to legal spots! skate parks! or if you see some one writing on a train or somin ask if u can bomb! or ask arround in school!
yea i usualy leave legals knowing an extra 5 graffers also if u make friends with 1 one guy...graff with him and his crew
the skools around here all have some kind of back alley way were dumpsters are or something and theres lots of tags and throw ups...
Two words: Art Class. Nothing is a better jump-off than flexing your skills with the paper and pen, doing assigned work. You'll be noticed, or others will be noticed by you. There are always cats who take Visual Arts so that they can practise their handstyles and create bomb concepts to be used one late night. Get to know those that you think may have the midnight itch and if they don't, inspire them to follow your lead. If nothing else, you can always Google a keyword like "graffiti" and check out the search results. That's how I stumbled upon Bombing Science.
wear a T-Shirt that sais "hello i'm a Graffiti artist" and hopefully someone will come up to you one day and be like "HEY...no way man me too"
