They're called INTERMODALS. They get painted regularly, lot's of people in lot's of places have and continue to paint them. The 53' is the length, beleive me...they're not rare

they are rare where i live and i see them go by atleast 30 times aday and theres like maybe 4 outta 100 cars painted. so i dont know how you figure mad people hit them?

Your reasoning is brutal.

Intermodals are the 'meat and potatoes' of the income for most A1 Railroads. They build hundreds of new units a month, at a multitude of rail builders (Ie. NSC, Trinity, etc.)
People who paint them, usually can paint them often, cause if you see them, you see them often.
Two places they get painted are where crew changes take place or where they're loaded (storage). Clearly, you're painting them at a crew change spot, which is why they're leaving on you.
Also, most of them are married couples, meaning that what you might count as 5 intermodals, is actually one, which will never part from it's sister units. So when you say 4 out of 100 are painted, those numbers are more like, 4 out of 40-50 cars are painted.
