You may not want it to be basic, but you want it to be quality, and it's not that either. If they say go basic, that don't mean stay basic, it means go back to basics to study the fundamental shape of letters, then slowly work style into them. You don't just start writing and then pull a cursive tag out of your ass and then bomb, it takes time to develope a good handy, so do basics to learn what the actual flow of the letter is, then start to morph it, and give it some kick. That's what go basic means. It means start from square 1 and learn what you missed.
