ok, here's what you do. practice simples (drawning the letters in your name at their basic level) for a round 3 months. in that time you will find your own flow and style for your lettering.

 

Alright, so I'm deffinitly in the toy catagory, but it kinda pisses me off. All I've done up until this point (probably for the past 5 months) is draw draw draw. My handstyles are alright at best, and I'm almost getting the hang of basic letter structures. But I've hit a point where I'm almost sick of it. I wunna be up on the wall already, but I know I'd have nothin but beef and disses from all the stronger heads out there. What the hell do I do? My friends are all nice and great, for instence my best friend is really good friends with Totem from Tats. Pisses me off that I feel like I'll never be good enough to put my shit by theirs, all they say is keep at it and you'll get there. <_<

Would it be too much to just tag shit or you people think I should wait until I can really throw out fire peices or at least decent throwies? I'll try to get some shit up here so you guys can see how little progress this 5 months has brought me.

Is it just me or is there like no Rusto in my area... I wentt to home depo, wal-mart, canadian tire, some other hardware/paint places and, the only rusto I see is just these other gay cans that aren't even worth using to paint with.... or is rusto Amereican?

ive been writeing 5 years and i was toy once but once u get good u cant get worse unless u havent painted in a year
tips-coping other peoples style will help u but make sure u dont paint it on a wall because ur fucked..
all i can say is draw MORE!

 

^^^have your really been writing for 5 years??? cause if so how can you say that biting helps improve your style?!? i remember when i first started i would bite some peoples shit that i liked...it got me no where. when i had to do my own peice without biting someone elses work it came out like shit. i eventually wound up going back and working on simples and block eltters and slowly progressing my style...shit i been writing for over a year and i'm still trying to progress my style from block letters. i really hope your just lying about writing for 5 years because that is rediculous. and for anyone whos just starting out and read that line...dont listen to it. if you really wanna get good do simples and blocks. TRUST ME...

EDIT* as for Ow3k and Revolt...just keep working on your shit man. the only way to ever get good at anything is repitition. i kno i sound like a broken record and so does everyone else on this site...but really the only way to get better is practice. if i were you what i would do is work on your style and letter structure for at least a year before you go out and start spraying anything. if you go out at the level you are currently at all you are waiting to do is get bad mouthed and crossed out.
