Depends what you mean by run down? If the houses have been abandoned, are fucked up, need to be painted anyway and aren't going to be an 'eye-sore' to anyone then go for your life.
I live and paint (non-graffiti) in a hundred year old mortuary near downtown LA. Over the last year I have become fascinated by graffiti and graffiti tools. The people on this board have been a huge inspiration and source of information, so thank you. This is the only non-brick wall in my joint, and it gets destroyed nightly with paint, mop tags, streaks, and Garvey. So much fun. Enjoy. im so fukin happey .today i chuked a few cans in my bag and rode my bike .did a cuple of tagz nothing special they were prtty toy.anyway i went down this bush trail and found a legal graffiti wall .there was no one there and it only had one peice and a couple of tags.yew i went bonkers.im guna hit up my new practice spot tomorrow! yay A.M.S
The other week I spotted a house in the middle of nowhere that burn half down. That's going to be my new spot.
lucas- a house that is half way burnt will most likely be torn down soon so id hit it up asap. when i go to my grandmas ther is a big car bridge with a usually dry creek bed in stead of creek...bout30 feet on each side and its at a angle to where i can stand that goes about 20-25 foot down it makes me horny..lol
I practice on the roof of my old elementary school (grade JK-6). And theres nothing ever up there, so I get a shit load of free room. I just need to be careful of the neibourhood, because more then half the school is surrounded by survey houses.
^^^^ neighbourhood watch haha that shits weak. bunch of fucken bored old people trying to rake in some hero joe glory, ew
i mainly practice on books and paper but there are a few quite spots for practice in my sleepy little death toll town
i dont practice i get that matrix fucker to load 90 years worth of control and technique. it took me 20 seconds and now im prostar. super.
we practice in this big abandoned building its huge and has like 3 floors and a ladder to the roof just covered with graff from top to bottom and the billboard up top was hit by mecro but no one hit the water tower cause its about to fall any second
my mate recently moved into his new house with a big double garage and hes got this big wall which i write on, eventually when i get better i'll start going to the local train station where theres walls along the side which are great
big piece of plywood in my garage and whenever i find a bridge since there's not a lot of activity i can usually find a bridge with nothing on it so ill go back later and practice
oh man im still on the lookout for a blank wall nobody passes by, like under a bridge but just recently my friend bought a big peice of sheetmetal, i think like 4 or 5 by 8 ft and hes all over that...he jus screwed it to a tree and got painting...i dont like plywood so much cuz the tougher the surface to paint on(like easy drip stuff) the more you will get out of it(and wood soaks paint, therefore fewer drips, learn less, at least based on my knowledge), and its all about the practice so just a heads on that, he got it for like 15 dolla so not to bad
