hardcore isn't about looks. shipwreck is good. guns up is good. ceremony, allegiance, letdown, meltdown, and KLU are all good. if you like those bands, you should have a good start in that direction. then again, that's just my opinion. but at least you're asking questions instead of being all defensive and close-minded. that's the kinda person people will be nice to and take under their wings in hardcore a lot of the time. but just listen to the kind of stuff that gets you going and that you truly completely like. for instance, i almost always use hardcore as a crutch, and the bands that get me through the day in shit times and such, are the bands i always love to listen to. i'm just rambling right now and my mind is currently stuck on some other shit, so i might not know what i'm really talking about, but i'm pretty sure i do. and dude who went to that metal show in nashville the other day, you probably saw the kid my friends fuucked up. he fell on the ground, twitched and stopped moving hahah. i wish i could've gone just to see that "fight"
That was during Recon I think. I was chillin outside and drinking beer during them.. not a big fan of Recon. If it was the same guys that almost got into a fight during the first band, you should've been there for that too. This dickhead fuck tried to start shit with that little guy who's always there dancing, pushing him and shit. It almost got nasty. Your friends probably remember me though.. I was the big guy in the pirates hat dancing.

Hardcore is about expression of self. You dont have to wear black or band shirts or shit like that. I've got a friend whos hardcore, and he wears all this random shit he finds at like thrift stores and hes always wearing a bandana. Most hardcore kid I know, and he doesnt conform at all.
That's a joke, right? Thrift stores and bandanas are the trendiest, most ridiculously conformist thing around right now. The strangest thing I've ever seen at a hardcore show was at the BYD show recently in Nashville. Kid walks in with glasses, a sweater vest, button up shirt, khakis and a cup of coffee... then proceeds to fuckin wreck everybody in the pit.
