Did a spray thing. Just a character. Tips? Also wintr you are too ficking cool with your simples. And welcome to all the new guys!
This shit is sOoooo sick.. but it lacks depth. Have you ever learned perspective? It would absolutely golden your work. No h8 its fucking dope... I just think more depth would make this art killer.
That actually looks dope. Keep it up dude! But careful that the letters all face the same way or it's pretty whack. You have a super solid foundation just try to unify the letters more in terms of direction. Cant wait to see more of your work. You're solid mate.
Ayy glad you are venturing into some spray. I don't know how familiar you are working with cans but there is a lot of technique to achieving tons of different effects. One thing in terns of characters is lay down some sketch lines, then it is kind of up to preference, but I like to throw shadows in first so I can keep track of the edges of my sketch, then your base color and fade that into the shadow. Then lay your highlights and finish with outlines. If you have 3D, I like to lay that first so I don't fuck up more intricate fills accidentally with overspray. One thing to practice is get a good variety of caps and see what you like to work with the best, each have their own pattern and intricacies. For me I like pink dots for fills and I've been really digging the MTN cream cap for outlines, but I was big on Legos before. Practice tapering your lines by adjusting distance from the wall and speed, and most importantly how to maintain a consistent line width
didnt turn out very good but first time a canvass came out looking somewhat proper for me. i really messed up the R. Cut the stencil out of cardboard so i might be pumping out a few more of these this week
Try covering the entire canvas with masking tape and then cut out what you want painted. It will give you nice sharp lines. You can keep doing this process to build layers. Here is one I did so you can see what I'm talking about.
Start with the g . honestly pretty on Point just a few thing I would have done to show more bar consitantsy with the top you get jambled and like like there almost a 3rd bar in there so I just made it one . on to the i . I like how the break through to show depth thats great . when you do things like that its extremely important the lines line up through the other bar same way extenions do always meet perfectly . . the m not bad I just got rid of that one box . and again the yellow and the red line is wear your bar would be how it is and the green is how it should look as one bent bar . now I also realis you were probly going for a boxed bar there and not a bent one but its super tacky and right in the middle so my eye was emiditly drawn to it . . and the k its solid structure . I know you put the arrow to balance some weight but its not repeated at all so i woyld drop the arrow . with the bottome leg I thought would be good balance to try and balance off the g . I failed but its the idea lol.
Agree with most of what you said. I struggled quite a bit with the K as it and the G open the same way making it hard to balance. I tried curving the K to balance against the G but it looked off due to no other letters having that much of a curve. The arrow was was what I finally decided on to fill the space but not entirely happy with it.
If anyone remembers the show monster rancher back in the late 90s/early00s... Did a tribute to tiger of the wind in my spot. Figured itd be fun... it was xD (My spot is an old abandoned place.. nd my crew and I each have our own walls/boards so yes we go over our stuff as practice spots or whatever)
That gimick looks fire. You've got those simple letters on lock bruh. I think you should play with different types of serifs on your simple letters
Not an entry, practice for knots battle, fked k up, looks like an h, outlines fked, s is too far, fill is shit, i added those serifs tho, how do you add serifs to an o or u dont lol
I think most of the time a serif on an O would be at the top right also I think the 'T' looks wrong but unsure how I would fix it :/
i know what you mean with the o i think Õöøòő like that? Hmm which part of the t the vertical parralel or both, or serifs arnt good on em. Not gonna lie all the widths are off when i look closer haha Edit: you think maybe i should make the middle of the t skinnier like it looks here? ..
Flip the swirls on the t. Like the top one faceing the other way and vice versa . give it that stoping feilling or . make it a capital t and extent the bars to cover most other letters . Just a thought . I fucks with it tho . Heres what I did I personaly dont care to much for it.
