The highline was an old rail/freight line that ran on elevated tracks (the HIGHline) through what was once the meatpacking district in Manhattan (nyc). a lot of great classic graffiti exists up around the whole thing, and most of it is probably going to be completely buffed very soon; it is being renovated into a park, apartments, hotel, etc. i had only looked down at it from some surrounding buildings, i never got to walk the whole thing. soon anyone will be able to get up onto it whenever they want, but surely most of its character will be lost. all these flicks are stolen, but i figure someone on here will have some of their own. http://www.flickr.com/photos/vogelium/ raels atak..
damn there looked like there was a fresh old school piece under some throwies in the photo under a giant overpass.. i wish i could have seen it before it got covered
This thread just put a smile on my face. I'd love to see more pics. Such beauty there. What great spots.
real good idea for a thread, the flicks could only last a page or 2 tho. highline does still exist. its getting harder and harder to access because of the super yuppie area that surrounds it. ingulfing it. walking it isnt too hard, getting to it isnt too easy. painting there is not easy either,, in some spiots the tracks run through buildings which is no go and all kinds of other drama. that flick with the raels and the turnstile makes me all gushy and shit foreal tho. good thread. rip new york city.
