yo. masks are definetly about the way you look in them not how they protecvt your brain or anything. but anyways. i never wear one. if im painting and i notice that the fumes are getting to me i just pull my shiort over my nose, and continue to watch as the paint flows.
gotta have the respirator for long sessions. Paint fumes will fuck up your brain, your nervous system, and your respiratory system.
not all of it is to avoid the fumes. Alot of people do it so that if a cop sees them, they wont have a description for the person, so they wont know who to look for. Or as normal people say, a "disguise"

I don't have the cash to buy a resp, but i'll get one soon, for tags and bombs i don't wear anything even though i should, but if i'm practicing and i'm gonna be standing in fumes for more than 5 min, i wrap up my wet bandana. Also yea all the people jsut using cloth as a mask, it has to be wet for it to protect you from fumes, if it's dry it's not doing anything for you. The smell of the paint isn't what fucks you up, it's the fumes that you don't smell, and those fumes can work there way through cloth fiber easy. If you wet the cloth, you fill up the gaps in the fiber with water, now the fumes can't get in your lungs. h34r: Cancer is gross h34r:
