    I thought these were alright, though I don't have the greatest camera in the world.

    Is a good neutral density filter worth the money?

    Doesn't the D3100 lack an AF motor? Why bother upgrading a D40 to another entry level DSLR?

    I don't care about the focus motor. Not having one has never bothered me. "Entry level" is a little subjective. People that use D3x's will refer to a D700's as 'entry level.' If it's better than the D5000, and about the same as a D90 (Minus the motor and actually AFs in movie mode) then it's more than enough of an upgrade for what I need it for. Provided it's not shit at high ISOs, which is my biggest concern, since I do most of my shooting in the evening.

    Case in point, I don't need or really ever want a full frame camera.

    Finally had a reason to use my 70-300mm. I knew I'd want it for something eventually.

    70-300mm f.4-5, at 300mm. handheld, too. I rarely use that lens because it's so slow.

    your saving for a d3s?

    the D3P is an april fools joke by ken rockwell... it doesn't exist. Look at the PC and microphone buttons on the D3P part of kens site... they are just copy and pasted.

    the article went up on 1st of april.

    The D3P being fake should have been a little obvious by the following;

    An amateur feature Nikon has taken away from the D3P to help professional journalists is the old tripod socket.

    Old timers remember these from the days of film, but occasionally they can cause problems crossing international borders.

    Tripod sockets can collect dirt or even bugs, which causes real problems with agricultural inspections. As we who travel know, transporting soil or anything alive across borders freaks out customs officials for the potential to transport plant and animal diseases.

    Sup dudes, I'm selling my Canon 24 - 105 f/4 L series lens. I'm gonna list it on eBay and then post the link here. However if anyone here is interested let me know and I'll end the auction

    Dude... You're on a buying spree, you just got a camera. So work your way around it and get used to the settings/shooting some film. When you want to move on to a DSLR take the time to DO SOME RESEARCH. Go into a store and hold the cameras, see how they feel. UNDERSTAND what you're getting. Don't just read the specs and megapixels...

    eBay is good, if you know what you're after and how to/you're going to use it.
