sunrise/set ones are neat because of the colors, the middle two are a snoozefest. put more thought into your choice of subject matter and composition. keep shooting
Copped a nikkor 50 1.8 today...jackass listed it as a 1.4(craigs list) so i was a bit disapointed when i saw it (it was listed for 100$); but after it was put to use i was happy =p. I'm liking my 70-300 more every time I use it. What the fuck is this exactly, anyway? It was mingling amongst the ducks and geese, and, it looks like a cross between both
It looks sick... [Broken External Image]:http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/1266/img1425x.jpg sorry... i know I post a lot of photos of leicas but... I don't care really.
that is the king of all geese and ducks my fellow furry animal lover hahah edit from earlier tonite. in this one i got home and said FUCK should have got more of that light on the right side. but w.e
The 1.8 is probably Canons worst lens ever. The 1.4 is FIRE! Also Lakim, $350 is no deal thats how much it costs brand new.
in canada, thats still cheaper (before tax) and i wouldnt say that about the 1.8 IQ its actually pretty good. love that gooseduck photo. new tattoo machine i traded for the S90...the shader is still being fine tuned.
well i was using a tripod so iunno how its not "level"... also the level tool on my tripod was even...so iunno wat the prob is...
It can be leveled from where you are, but not leveled with the landscape ahead of you, G. Like, the dock/land you were standing on could be level but the land across the water could be tilted.
I get mixed reviews about that really, I've even had some people say they feel the 1.8 is better in some aspects, I got it for free so for that price I'm more than happy with it.
Better than what? I will say that the 1.4 is in ways better than the 1.2L. Most people agree with that as well. Also there is like a $800 price difference.
People/reviewers have said that the 1.4 is soft at 1.4, whereas the 1.8 is sharp at 1.8, and autofocuses better than the 1.4, I personally wouldn't want to be spending a couple hundred bucks on a plastic lens that is not a HUGE improvement over a $90 model. I just don't see how the 1.8 is Canon's worst lens ever, considering it's sharp and fast, but I'm sure the build quality is one of the worst, though I don't see the 1.4 excelling in that either, which afaik only boasts a metal mount, over the 1.8.
The reason you want the 50/1.4 over the 1.8 is because of the extra stop of light yes, but also it's got an 8 blade aperture instead of the 5 blade that the 1.8 has, which makes for much jucier bokeh. That and it's much better build quality, with a metal mount instead of that plastic shit.
