I really don't understand how they shade so smoothly with a bic ball pen it only draws so soft . I resort to texture look . Cross hatch and shit cus I just don't get it some one please eleberat

 

well truthfully I think without graffiti we would be in a moronic society based on masturbation and watching the batin channel and we would all be lopsided with a big arm and a lil arm

 

yes brother I used to use those when I drew all the time they really formed my style

 

I think the Bic standard ballpoint pen is one of the best if not the best for prison style shading but even among those, quality can vary from pen to pen.. it's good to test out different ballpoint pens in general and try to find ones that work well for the job...like don't skip and can make a nice tapered line and flow the right amount of ink.

Then also if you want a good fine line ball point pen you might have to look around a bit .....for example if you want it to match the rest of your work because the ink can vary between brands.

I don't know about all that but I think what you are referring to some people call "tip shading"... and I agree, you can get good results with it IF you have the right pen.

 

I found the another ball point it is a lil better I guess I'll just have to keep trying different pens till I find one I like
