i really like the bottom one, seems like you could pull it off way better than the top one. But do a little somethin to that Z to make it fit with the rest.

ohh yea and on the J i would make the bar go across both sides on top of it, not just to the right or whatever

ok...you have the same problem i used to have...goin too big with the first letter. i mean look at it, that s is huge...the y is all cramped up in there. work on proportions...same height, width, etc...try and draw them exactly how they are....S, C, Y....then throw some of your own swag on there once you get that structure down. good luck

yea id say defs work on using bars (same width, height)
s' are always tricky tho, but keeping playing with it.
oh... leave the 3d gone for now (its wrong on the Y, btw). work on them letter-
structures first before movin on to fills, 3d, forcefields, etc

The bars in your E are too fat still, and not feelin the Y

 

i second that. each bar in every letter should be, give or take the same. but practice makes perfect bro. i still dont have it.... at all. like.. i suck at graff lol

Something I put together just now.. looks more proportional to me, I'm not too worried about how ugly my letters are right now, just working the bars for now.

again, agreed. looks much better. once you get those down try different fonts if you will like lower case, rounded edges, etc. keep it up

i would recommend just tracing the entire grid on the page, i remember a teacher making me do that because i had a shaky hand
