Somewhere in the middle of this thread there was a list of various foods and their protein content, with things like lentils having big numbers and steak having smaller numbers.

Plant proteins are not complete protiens, they are incomplete. You need two types of plant proteins to make up for one whole meat protein. If you only eat one kind of incomplete protein you're still going to be protein defficiant.

And someone said humans are growing out of meat because people can't eat raw meat anymore. It's because the cows are eating grains instead of grass so the bacteria survives in their stomach rather than being killed. Then when the meat is still raw that bacteria is still in it, where as if they didn't have the weaker stomach from being used to eating grains and soy many of those bacteri wouldn't be able to survive.
