Hi I write graphiks been writing since 06, 6th grade walking home from school catching acrylic tags on the floors on our bus routes to and from school so the other kids seen our names up . If you weren’t being seen you weren’t anybody . officially painting and piecing decently in 2016 Got the name while in math class middle school while doing algebra on graph sheets. I googled it one day and read it ment to see an image a graphik and since I was always good at drawing and my graffiti sucked at the time I just went with it and stuck since . I grew up on the west coast socal so we don’t get much rain out this way I always admired the freight scene and how it brought in a lot of east coast funk letters out here we don’t see much of that now we do cus the internet influences styles but growing up everyone was doing the evil pointy “ rosebush” letters we call them. Something about just having fun with your letters to me is more appealing and appreciated than trying to fit into a genre of people that find validation from the norm. I’d consider my style just a random bunch it always depends on how I’m feeling in that moment in time, my current state of mind outside of graff my relationships with people and identity I have with myself . Every piece a reflection of life raw unpredictable and always in motion . I go out of my way to find places people haven’t been to or painted it’s where I find most my peace, painting has a meditative element to it . It’s a turn off to be somewhere everyone has been “pun intended “ … My style is never static because neither is the world around us I can never imagine painting the same thing twice . Unless it’s a good throw that I can appreciate. At the end of the day I want my work to make people pause and reflect. I’m just trying to create something real, something that sparks a moment of connection or understanding for them when they look at it. Art in any form is to be interpreted by the viewer how he or she’s perspective of reality is and for me the ability to create something meaningful or long lasting makes it all worth it.
