Habes (Bilbao) Graffiti Writer Spotlight

HABES:

I started painting in 2006 in my city Bilbao, we started the friends of the neighborhood, and today I am lucky enough to be able to continue painting with EIK in the crew from the beginning, the rest of the friends stopped painting.

We met people from the area who also painted, and in 2008 we formed the crew LA 1314, which was joined by ROKE and ONER, writers from the area active long before us.

Study illustration motivated by graffiti, to learn some knowledge and techniques outside the world of graffiti.

Actually the truth is that I use digital tools a lot for work, and more and more for personal projects.

My style in graffiti the truth that I would not know how to define it very clearly. What I prioritize now to make me some letters is that they are legible forms respecting the structure of the letter but modifying it as much as possible, and I try to make the whole of the piece I like, but each letter individually as well.

My favorite places to paint are factories and abandoned places, in which I try to take advantage of the photograph of the environment surrounding the graffiti.

As for writers I like I could say many, but in short, I like two writers of different styles, one CHAS LoveLetters, I love their work, the color compositions …. And two BOOGIE SML, I love your simple, funny, very clean lyrics, good colors …

And as for drawing in the world of graffiti, I also like different styles, on the one hand I would be TREZE, it is a type of drawing that I like very much, I also love the work of ETAM CRU and in another more different style would be the one of HOMBRE SUK, with characters with very clean lines and flatter colors.

The truth is that I am very grateful to the graffiti for all the people I have met and the adventures that it has taken me, and I would no longer contemplate my life without painting. Although I can go through periods of greater or lesser activity, graffiti is present in my day to day and I consider it necessary for me.
