Yo! I write Hatch One for ACM crew and I hail from the most livable city in the world, Melburn Australia! I’ve been running with my current word Hatch for a while now, however previously I have put up Haloes and before that Smise. I get bored easily with the same letters so I tend to change things up every now and then, which in some respects is to my own demise. But whatever, it keeps things interesting. I’ve been writing on and off for roughly the last 15 years but if I had to sum up my graffiti career in one word it would be sporadic. It’s safe to say I haven’t been the most consistent of writers over my time but my interest in graff has never really waned. Even if I didn’t paint for 6 months to a year, I still tried to keep up with the scene. The internet is a beautiful thing. My approach to graffiti is letters first. Letters are everything. If you ain’t got strong letter form then I feel you’re putting yourself behind the eight ball. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate effects, colors and all the funk that can make a good piece but for me at the end of the day, good letters are where it’s at. And that’s what I’m always aiming for, however I know I still got a long way to go.
My favorite writers are people who I see as letter writers and there’s plenty of them out there these days. But if I had to narrow it down I would say some of my favorites are people like Soten, Ekto, Akuze, Bacon, Smock, Taste, Geser and Kems to name just a few. All are style killers in their own right and dudes I definitely look up too. Again, to me they all have really tough letter structures in heir own unique way. On top of that they cover most aspects of graff, be it burners, blockbusters, throws, trains or tags, and that’s what I like…that’s where I’m constantly pushing my style towards.
Shouts to all the dudes I paint with, to my other crew mates in Thailand and to all the dudes I met, painted and hung out with recently whilst doing six months travelling through South East Asia. Love to my special girl The Itcha and finally thanks to you Bombing Science for hitting me up and making this happen. Peace!
