When did you start painting?
I started painting on walls when I was 16 but I have been drawing and painting on paper for pretty much as long as I can remember.
How did you come up with your name?
I started to get into style writing and of course my old school books were a great place to practice. Back then I didn´t think that I would ever paint a wall but as I got more confident about my drawings I had to try it. Of course it was a complete disaster haha! It was a point of no return and I wanted to keep doing it and that´s how crazy mister sketch was born!
Why did you continue painting?
There are many reasons why I still paint. I love seeing my style develop and I love how graffiti gives me the ability to “design” parts of my surroundings and make them look like I want them to look. Other writers also play an important role. I met great people and I have seen amazing places because of graffiti. Without it I would have missed so much in my life. Those are just a few of the reasons why I keep on writing!
Do you have any artists you look up to or anyone that inspires you?
There are many people I look up to – Probably too many to name. Of course there are crews like MSK or LoveLetters that inspire me but I also take inspiration from less known writers. There are also a lot of influences outside of graffiti. For example: The shapes of my letters with their straight lines and corners which are inspired by the mountains around my hometown.
What type of paint and products do you like using most?
Well in the little town that I come from we don´t really have too much choice when it comes to paint. The only graffiti spray paint that you can get here is Montana gold and black. I pretty much got used to it! Most writers here complain about it but I think it´s alright!
Have you had any weird or funny experiences in your painting career?
Definitely! Anything from painting a wedding dress to making up weird excuses for being in the wrong place at the wrong time after getting caught by someone and then actually getting away with it. I don´t wanna go to into much details here but I think everybody who has been writing for some years knows what I am talking about!
What do you see yourself doing in the future with your graffiti skills and experience?
I want to travel the world some time with cans and a camera in my backpack. There are just too many places and cities I still haven’t seen! Maybe sometimes I will even make a living doing this, who knows? But, most importantly, I want to keep doing what I am doing now! I want to keep exploring, keep pushing my style, keep painting for fun and keep having the best time!
