«Jenkins was a big part of Montreal’s graff history. Somebody who starts painting graffiti there should know about its history.»
–Ether
Located in Lachine (Montreal), Jenkins was a valves factory who became a huge playground for graffiti writers after its closure in 1992. Valued spot for the subculture, it was abandonned for more than 10 years before being demolished in 2004.
Profoundly influenced by Jenkins, Vincent Tourigny (ex-graffiti writer) has been collecting pictures and interviews since a couple of years of this now disapeared spot. His research to document this part of his own past is now taking form into a unique book. La Jenkins is one of the very few books that talk about Montreal’s graffiti scene. It is loaded with photos from graffiti writers personal archives, interviews and other artifacts.
Interviews, artworks and pictures of: C’Lok, Some, Smak, Kers, Jaber, Shok, Stack, Fluke, Sniper, Ether aka Cemz, Morz, Sober, Killa-EF, Bez, Cyens, Nixon, Scaner, Meor, Vesk, Her, Simo, Jake, and more.
