Medik One

I write Medik. I’m originally from the Pacific Northwest but grew up the The Bay Area of California. I’ve been painting since 1997 when I was lucky enough to witness the golden era of graffiti in San Francisco. I used to take the train to the city and take pictures with a disposable camera. Writers like Rem, Twist, Phable, Cycle, Tie, MQ, Dug, Giant, Natrl, Bles, Revok, Saber, Atom and KR were incredibly active during that time and inspiring everyone in the area.

Everytime I go to paint I make sure to try at least 1 new idea or technique that I’ve never done before. Sometimes it looks like shit and doesn’t work out but once and a while you’ll make a breakthrough and it’s all worth it. I’ve never been the kind of artist to do the same out line every time. I find that boring. Variety is the spice of life.
