This was a gallery show featuring an easily recognizable group of artists that go by MFK. The goal in mind was to bring a setting that these guys are used to painting in, to the gallery. Using items like old metal barrels, tarp hanging from the ceiling, rolled fencing and even old big wheels and children's toys..these pieces were found and recovered out of the warehouses they paint in again and again. It added an element of dirtiness and eeriness to the gallery aesthetic.
The artists then used these items to display their art on, visually explaining how much the detail of their art and graffiti can brighten up these dead or otherwise unused places, walls and "garbage" left behind in the abandoned warehouses they frequent.
Tim Faulkner Gallery is an outlet in Louisville and the midwest region for graffiti writers. This venue has hosted numerous graffiti related shows and is planning on another in September, Uter's – "Temporarily Permanent".
