“Practice makes perfect. Measure twice before cutting. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Ok that last one is a stretch, but the point is, sketching floor plans for your masterpieces is what irons out the kinks and makes them stronger. Legibility, composition and smart letter connections go a long ways towards making your pieces stand out amongst the riffraff; sketches will be judged on these three aspects first, with things like color use, design elements and characters/illustrative components being judged secondarily. “

- Sketch can be color OR black and white
