Yo, I’m from Toronto and I write Smug. I started noticing graffiti around 2003-2004 but did not start painting until 2005. Following that the 416 and Style in Progress events downtown influenced me to paint pieces.
I would say I was initially influenced by what was around at the time like HSA, DP, TCM and BSM.
My style is tough to pinpoint as I am a product of the internet generation. I had a lot of content to pool from but as well very influenced by my own city. At the end of the day I feel Toronto is about style and would like to continue that!
