Some (Boston) Graffiti Writer Spotlight

My name is Some 1 and I’m a writer currently based in Bielefeld, Germany.

I painted my first piece about 7 years ago and began quite early to focus on legal productions rather than on bombing spots, since a certain degree of cleanliness and complexity is what it takes for me to feel satisfied with my output. Right now, I try to create a rather graphic style which is complex and with quite a few details but not too wild yet. Recently I’ve also been trying to combine my style with rather realistic elements such as animals. I mostly focus on the style and shape of the letters instead of a complicated fill-in or background and love to use big blocks to add some kind of depth to my pieces and make it appear a little plastic. One of the many writers i admire and who influenced me and my choice of painting this kind of style definitly is the styleking Asmoe from malaysia.

The thing i like most about graffiti is how it brings together all kinds of people, no matter how different they are. There are no better days than the ones you get together with your people (cheers to my friends, the Bordeaux Boys and the STA-crew!), drink a few beers, have a little barbecue and meanwhile create a sweet piece. Graffiti made me get to know some of the best people I ever met and also made me experience hospitality and kindness all over the world (special greetings to my friends Goser, Viser and Esol from the states!) and has therefore enriched my life in various ways.
