I write Tares. I started writing in the late 90s.
I’m from Atlanta, GA and I rep Burn Unit Crew, FSA, and Kaos Inc. My main influence is from my mentor Totem 2 and my crew Burn Unit.
Burn Unit is also a b-boy crew. I actually got into graff through b-boying, and Totem 2 taught me how to battle the same way I approach painting a piece. Each one of my letters is like a member of my crew and each letter is battling both attacking and defending. I want each of my pieces to burn as if I were in a b-boy cypher.
My crew runs several small businesses under a creative agency umbrella. Our classic car club, Black Cloud Battalion, does vintage car modification. Like our cars, our lifestyle apparel BLK CLD Vintage represents the collision of vintage Americana and Japanese street culture. We also do the branding and product development for Mr. Fangs, aka the Geist, Atlanta’s oldest and most beloved street art character.
