i ain't no art major but uh, its gonna look like he has a gray hair fade, because you didn't put the skin tone down first.
whatever ink gets laid down over that is gunna be more prominant than the grey. trust me that's how i do all my shading. if i lay the grey down after it will look more gray because i like to oversaturate my pieces. makes for cleaner blends.
